Fri 10-30-2015

(Rock Rapids)-- The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has released details into a collision this past Saturday involving a pickup and a camper that injured three people. Authorities say 65-year-old Darrel Gross of Glenwood was driving a 1992 Fleetwood camper which had mechanical problems, causing him to stop, with the camper partially on the roadway.

Deputies say a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by 23-year-old Adam Schafer of Sheldon then came upon the scene. Authorities say Schafer didn't realize the camper was stopped and collided with the rear of it, causing $15,000 in damage.

Darrel Grosse and a passenger in the camper, Robert Grosse, were taken to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids for treatment of minor injuries. Schafer also sustained minor injuries but declined immediate treatment.

The collision took place shortly after 5:30 p.m.
