(Okoboji)-There's something new at the Pearson Lakes Art Center KUOO's Becky Thoreson has the story:
The Pearson Lakes Art Center has announced their new “Art after Hours.”
Executive Director Bob Kirschbaum says the event gets underway Thursday evening. "This is our first, our Art after Hours, starting off from 5-7 with an Artist Opening, we have Kirk Hovenga, Iowa Landscapes, and then we move outside to our new outdoor amphitheater and Dave Rowley along with a couple young ladies from Summer Theatre will be entertaining. We'll also, out in our gazebo, will have a cash bar, and a lot of food provided by Hospice, and we're really excited partnering up with them. A great cause."
Deb Lenertz, Manager of Volunteer Services with Kindred Hospice says a meal will be served to assist youth who wish to attend Camp I Believe. "We love to be able to support folks at a difficult time in their lives, and through hospice services, we also extend into areas that aren't so well known. We provide services to youth who might have experienced a loss as well, and that's about our partnership with Pearson Lakes Art Center, we are raising money through this partnership to be able to send kids to camp, Camp I Believe, right here in the Lakes Area."
Art After Hours will run from 5-9 Thursday evening at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
A free will donation will be accepted for the BBQ meal which will be served by the Dickinson County Cattlemen's Association.
