Palo Alto County Collisions Result In Minor Injuries
Wed 11-9-2016
(Emmetsburg)-- Palo Alto county authorities have released details into two collisions last week that resulted in minor injuries.
The first occurred shortly after 4:00 pm Thursday on Highway 4 south of Emmetsburg. Authorities say 29-year-old Raelynn Smith of Mallard was driving a 2004 Chevy Blazer southbound when a vehicle in front of her braked suddenly. Deputies say Smith was able to get stopped, but she was struck in the rear by a 2007 Ford van driven by 31-year-old Stephanie Schultz of Mallard.
Schultz was taken by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital. She was cited with following too closely.
The other collision took place shortly before 7:00 pm Saturday on a county road. Authorities say a 2006 Buick Terraza driven by 37-year-old Stacie Busch of Fenton crossed the center line and nearly went into the north ditch when Busch over-corrected, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times.
Busch and two minor passengers were taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital.
