Osceola County Crash Sends One Person To The Hospital
(Sibley)-- The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has released details into a two-vehicle collision this past Saturday that sent one person to the hospital.
Authorities say a 16-year-old from Harrisburg, South Dakota was driving a 2011 Dodge Avenger eastbound on Highway 9 near the Osceola/Lyon county line and 67-year-old David Amendt of Sutherland was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta westbound. Deputies say Amendt lost control of his vehicle and started to spin into the eastbound lane. The two vehicles collided, with the Jetta going into the north ditch and the Avenger left in the middle of the road.
The 16-year-old was taken to Osceola Community Hospital by the Little Rock ambulance with minor injuries.
Amendt was cited for failure to maintain control.
The collision took place a little after 11:00 am.
