(Storm Lake)-The Storm Lake Police Department arrested an Omaha man after receiving information that a stolen vehicle might be in or around Storm Lake earlier this week.

Shortly after receiving the information, a Storm Lake Police Officer on patrol observed a vehicle matching the description on the 1300 block of Lake Avenue.

Police converged on the vehicle and took the driver into custody who was identified as Michael Semans, age 37, of Omaha.

Semans allegedly stole the vehicle from a residence in Omaha earlier in the day.

Based on Semans actions at the time of arrest, the SLPD transported him to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where he was later transferred to another facility for a mental health evaluation.

Semans was released from the medical facility on Monday and was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail where he was charged by the Storm Lake Police Department with Possession of Stolen Property in the 2nd Degree, a class D felony.

He was also charged with OWI and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Subtance.
