Okoboji Tourism Committee Hires New Director

(Arnolds Park)-- A lakes area woman has been hired as the new Director of the Okoboji Tourism Committee. It was announced today (Monday) Carina Woodward has been hired to the position. John Adams of the OTC tells KUOO news the committee was very pleased with the number and quality of candidates. He says there were several things that put Woodward at the front of the pack...(click here for comment.) "We had some outstanding applicants. It came down to her passion for the Iowa Great Lakes is just unmatched, and a lot of good marketing experience with her job at Parks Marina, very innovative with her social media. That's something we wanted to take the Okoboji Tourism to the next level with some of the social media aspects of things, and Carina has a very strong background with that."

The OTC began looking for a new Director in late March following the resignation of Stacey Rosemore who took a new position in Colorado. Adams says Woodward will begin her new job May 12th...(click here for comment.) "We're very excited to have her. Stacey Rosemore did a terrific job for us before leaving for Colorado for another position and we're looking forward to where Carina can lead us in the future."

Woodward has worked as a Marketing Associate for Parks Marina the past five years. She has a BA Degree with an emphasis in English Literature and Public Relations from Saint Mary's University in Minnesota. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Okoboji RAGBRAI Committee, is a board member for the Iowa Lakes Community College annual Scholarship Luau, and has organized the annual Boat Loads of Toys Christmas Toy Drive.
