(Milford)-- The field of candidates for Superintendent of the Okoboji Community School District has been narrowed to two finalists. They are Jacob Tietje, Principal at Windom Area High School in Windom, Minnesota, and Todd Abrahamson, Superintendent of the Grinnell-Newburg Community School District.

Tietje and Abrahamson were narrowed from a list of 13 in-state and five out-of-state candidates who applied for the position.

Abrahamson has been Superintendent of the Grinnell-Newburg School District the past five years. He announced his resignation in November.

Tietje previously served as wrestling coach and Dean of Students at Fairmont High School in Fairmont, Minnesota prior to accepting his latest position with the Windom Community School District in the summer of 2013.

The Okoboji School Board has a meeting scheduled with Tietje tomorrow (Thurs. 2/25) and Abrahamson on Friday (2/26). The finalists will have an opportunity to tour facilities and meet with teachers, staff, community leaders and parents. The board will then meet Friday evening to make a final decision as to who will replace Gary Janssen, who's retiring.
