(Okoboji)-The Okoboji Summer Theatre has announced their upcoming season, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre has announced the lineup for their 63rd Season.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says, the season will be shortened to 6 productions. "We are ready to come roaring back, we just need to do it as safely as possible for our students, our guests and the patrons, of course. So, what we opted to do is a shortened season, with 6 productions on the Main Stage, that's gonna include - because we all need it - some fun comedies and some big musicals."
She adds that the Boji Bantam productions will be held outdoors at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. "We are partnering with the Pearson Lakes Art Center to do 2 Boji Bantam Children's Theatre productions. They'll be in the outside amphitheatre, July 21-24, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, and then we'll close out that season with The Velveteen Rabbit, August 4-7."
She notes that safety protocols will be in place for the Main Stage productions. "We're going to do several things. Pushing people back 2 rows, so the reserved seating folks will have to go back a bit to create some space. We will be asking people to wear masks inside, and and we are going to do a contactless box office with a limited capacity, in addition to that."
