Officials Unveil Plans For A New Strip Mall In Jackson
(Jackson, Mn.) The Jackson Economic Development Corporation today (Thurs.) unveiled the rendering for the plans for a new strip mall in the Jackson industrial park. JEDC President Scott Reimer says the group saw the need for more amenities in the Jackson community...
"There wasn't a lot of investors looking to step up to do a project like this in a smaller community, so we took it upon ourselves to hatch this project and contact local business owners and see if we could get something going."
Subway was the first business to take a spot in the new development. The JEDC reached out to other local businesses which included Donnie Schoenrock of Kat’s Hog Heaven. Schoenrock says they have been wanting to start another business...
"We really wanted to do something either in our town or close to it. We love Jackson. And we got introduced to Brad Barber with Cabin Coffee through Tom Nelson who's our Economic Development Coordinator."
Everything fell into place after meeting with Cabin Coffee so the two anchors of the building will be Cabin Coffee and Subway. Construction is slated to start in June. The JEDC is still looking to fill the other spots in the development but believe the development could open as early as this fall.
