Ocheyedan Water Supply recommending boiling water following repair work

Wed 6-5-2019 Ocheydan, IA

(Ocheyedan)-The Ocheyedan Water Supply has issued a statement that residents are encouraged to boil water following repair work that was being conducted on June 5.

Officials say due to the potential for bacterial contamination, it is recommended that the water be boiled before using for drinking or cooking, or that an alternative source be used.

It is recommended not to drink the water without boiling it first.  Officials say to bring all water to a boil for one minutes, then let it cool before using.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.

The statement says this is for the area east of Main Street between 5th and RR Streets in Ocheyedan.
