O'Brien County Rear-End Collision Injures One

(Sheldon)-- A rear-end collision Friday in Sheldon sent one person to the hospital.
The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Tanner Coombs of Hospers was westbound on Highway 18 when he collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Luis Dominquez of Hawarden who had stopped for a red stop light.
Coombs was transported to Sanford Hospital in Sheldon for treatment of minor injuries. No injuries were reported to Dominquez.
Coombs was cited with failure to maintain control and for not having a valid driver's license.
$6,000 in damage was estimated to a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Coombs; damage to a 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by Dominquez was estimated at $500.
The collision took place shortly before 2:30 pm.
