O'Brien County Collision Claims A Life

(Primghar)-- A collision Sunday in O'Brien county involving a Chevrolet Blazer and a Polaris Ranger claimed the life of a Primghar man.

The Iowa State Patrol says 61-year-old Jerome Schueller of Primghar was driving the ATV westbound on 380th Street and 40-year-old Joshua Mahler of Sutherland was driving the Blazer northbound on Roosevelt Avenue when the collided. Deputies say the driver's side of the ATV was impacted, with both vehicles coming to rest in the ditch where they caught on fire.

Schueller, who was driving the A-T-V, was pronounced dead.

Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle driven by Mahler were taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital.

Authorities say the collision took place around 5:20 pm and that it remains under investigation.

The O'brien County Sheriff's Office, Sheldon, Sanborn and Paullina ambulances and Primghar Fire and Rescue assisted on the scene.
