NW Iowa, SW Minnesota Escapes Severe Weather Threat
Mon 5-11-2015
(Spirit Lake)-- Northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota dodged a bullet Sunday as severe weather roared through portions of the upper midwest. The area was under a tornado watch all day. While some showers and thundershowers moved through, none of the activity in the immediate area was severe.
The situation was different, though, to our southeast. The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down Sunday evening in Calhoun county, with reports of structural damage. A tornado also reportedly touched down in Pocahontas county, but there were no immediate reports of damage. No injuries were reported.
