NW Iowa Corridor Habitat For Humanity Relocates House For Next Project
(Milford)-- If you were out and about Thursday in the Arnolds Park and Milford areas you may have seen a house moving down the road. It was part of a project for the Northwest Iowa Corridor Habitat for Humanity.
The organization was recently gifted a house with the provision it be moved to a different location. For now it's being stored on the grounds of HTC Manufacturing in Milford. Mary Tunhorst of the Northwest Iowa Corridor Habitat for Humanity chapter says plans call for the house to be moved to its final location at 1307 8th Street in Milford next spring.
In the meantime, Tunhorst says they're accepting applications from qualified families to own the home. Applications are available at the national Habitat website or from any public library in the area.
To qualify, interested applicants must be willing to partner with the local Habitat affiliate and be willing to put in “sweat equity hours” both prior to setting the home on its future site and during the work that will be required to get the home ready for occupancy. Applicants must also be living in unacceptable living conditions to be eligible, and they must be able to make a monthly mortgage payment.
Applications may be mailed to P.O. Box 754, Spirit Lake...51360.
