(Estherville)-Northwest Iowa STEM will host a Virtual coffee on November 20, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Northwest Iowa STEM Region will host a Virtual Coffee to promote education and business partnerships on November 20.
Regional Manager Mary Trent explains. "We have an advisory board, and we are in constant communication with our businesses and education partners in our 19 counties. One of the questions that kept coming up over and over again is, how do we form partnerships between businesses and educators, and so, we have several of our school communities in the far northwest corner of Iowa that are going to come together on November 20 from 8:45 to 10:30. We're coming together to talk about ways in which we can do those partnerships beyond a field trip, beyond a guest speaker and so, it's talking about more ways in which we can connect and give students of all ages a taste of what it's like to be in the real world of work and how what they're learning in school really does relate to what they'll need to know when they get older. So, this is an opportunity for that to happen."
She adds that there a couple of ways to register. "You can register one of two ways. You can either email me at email@example.com or you can go to our website, iowalakes.edu/stem."
The deadline to apply is Friday, November 13 at 5 pm.
