Northwest Iowa Care Connections Will Likely See New Counties Joining Its Mental Health Services Region

Tue 3-3-2020

(Spirit Lake)-- The Northwest Iowa Care Connections mental health region will likely be taking on some new counties effective this coming July 1st, just as Dickinson county will be leaving to join the Sioux Rivers region.

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) approved resolutions allowing Kossuth, Winnebago and Worth counties to join. A couple of supervisors questioned whether it was appropriate for Dickinson county to even vote on the matter, as it will be leaving the region. Supervisor Tim Fairchild said he was also torn on the matter, but indicated the county still has some say as it remains a part of the Northwest Iowa Care Connections as of right now.

The acceptance of the new counties won't become final until other counties who belong to the region also approve them.
