(Arnolds Park)-Some local bankers plan to take the plunge at Winter Games, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
A group of bank employees with Northwest Bank plan to participate in the Polar Plunge during the University of Okoboji Winter Games.
Nicole Evans, Retail Manager at the Arnolds Park branch says the idea is to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. "Northwest Bank is a corporate sponsor for Relay for Life, and we have a team at the event every year in Dickinson County and Clay County. Our branches had gotten together and decided we wanted to do a fundraiser, and it's for both Dickinson and Clay County going together. This year, we decided that if we are able to raise $10,000, we have an awesome group of bankers that are willing to jump into the Lake at Winter Games during the Polar Plunge. So, we're excited about this - and nervous!"
She adds that there are several ways to donate. "We're going to have a link where they can go online and just make an online donation that way. They can stop into any of our Northwest Bank locations in Arnolds Park, Milford, Spencer and Spirit Lake, or they can mail a donation in to Northwest Bank in Arnolds Park. Cash or checks. Checks can be made payable to the American Cancer Society, all the donations benefit the American Cancer Society. We appreciate any and all support."
The Polar Plunge will take place on January 26 during the U of O Winter Games.
