North Wind Region of Citizens' Climate Lobby concludes Conference in Iowa Great Lakes
(Okoboji)-The Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) held a regional conference at Iowa Lakeside Lab on West Okoboji over the weekend.
The national organization is a non-profit, non-partisan group focused on national policies to address climate change, and advocates their carbon fee and dividend proposal, among other issues.
Among those in attendance, national and regional staff of the CCL , as well as a broad demographic of individuals, from world travelers to nuclear physicists and local citizens.
Holly Mueller, a nursing student from Milford spoke with KUOO news about her reasons for attending. "I'm part of a group called Iowa Great Lakes Indivisible here in Dickinson County, and one of our members is Jane Shuttleworth, and she works here at Lakeside Lab, and has told me about the conference. One of the issues that we work on at Iowa Great Lakes Indivisible is climate change and how to get policy changed and to do some actions and make things happen. So I thought this would be a great way to network with people from Iowa and from outside of Iowa to see what we can do."
Regional chapters may be forming following the conference, for details click here.
