No Boundaries Program Being Offered As Partnership Between Several Area Schools, Businesses & Industries
(Milford)-- A program that involves students from several area high schools and area businesses and industries is off and running.
Kiley Miller, Executive Director of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation tells KUOO news the No Boundaries program is being conducted in conjunction with the Okoboji, Spencer and Graettinger-Terril schools...
"Businesses or organizations can pitch ideas of real needs within their own organizations. Problems that they have that they would like to see these students take on. And then teams of students will spend the next year really tackling those problems."
Miller says there are just a few basic things that businesses or industries involved in the program need to provide for the program...
"You need to provide time. You need to dedicate a staff person to help out with this project. But the educators, the teachers, they're responsible for making sure the curriculum lines up with the project."
Miller says the Corridor will be hosting an informational meeting next week to further explain the No Boundaries program...
"Next Wednesday, that will be February 27th at 11:30 am, we'll host the Corridor's quarterly investor meeting. Normally our quarterly investor meetings are for investors. But we're going to have as our guest presentation No Boundaries, educators from all three of those districts. So if your business or organization is really interested in learning more about this, we invite you to join us at the quarterly investor meeting, the Iowa Lakes Corridor. It's at 11:30 next Wednesday at the Majestic Pavilion in Arnolds Park."
You can RSVP for the event by contacting the Corridor at (712) 264-3474.
