New Events added to Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Spectacular Weekend
(Arnolds Park)-Some new events have been added to The Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has the story:
The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Spectacular has been expanded to include some new events.
Executive Director Cindy Stanbro says new activities have been added on Saturday, September 1. "Starting at 8 am, we have a big pancake breakfast with Chris Cakes at The Pavilion. We have a festival going on at Preservation Plaza with family-friendly activities, we're going to have a bounce house, vendors, you can buy stuff. Just a fun celebration of music and really, The Iowa Great Lakes region. Then we have our parade at 10 o'clock, and then after that there will be some opening remarks."
She notes that workshops have also been added this year. "Starting at 11, there's these free music workshops with Inductees. There's four different classes. There's guitar with Gary Richards. Mike Butterworth and Jason Walsmith from The Nadas are doing a songwriting workshop. Nudie Binder, he's going to be doing a drum workshop, and then David Ellefson, he's doing a bass workshop. And then, after that we have our Iowa Rocks Talent Finals. There are 8 bands and 6 individuals from across the State, who are coming to compete to open for the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame Concert on Sunday."
