National Weather Service Warns Of Elevated Fire Danger In Coming Days
(Undated)-- The National Weather Service is once again warning of an elevated fire danger across the region.
Forecasters say a combination of gusty wind, low relative humidity and dry vegetation will result in elevated fire danger today (Thursday). They say the danger will likely continue over the next several days, or atleast until some appreciable rain falls.
Officials say burning should be avoided and that extra caution should be given to any outdoor activity that could spark a fire. They say any fire that does form may have the potential to spread quickly.
Several counties in the region have issued burning bans that are in effect until further notice. Dickinson, so far, is not among them.
