National Weather Service Warning Of Elevated Fire Danger Across The Region
(Undated)-- The National Weather Service is warning of a high fire danger for the region today (Fri.). Forecasters say very low humidity, sunshine, wind and warm temperatures will combine to create an elevated fire danger across the region. People are urged to use extreme caution in any outdoor activities that could cause grass fires, and to avoid doing any open burning while the extreme conditions are present.
Several area departments Thursday battled what started off as controlled burns that quickly got out of control after the wind suddenly shifted. The Terril and Milford Fire Departments responded to one such fire Thursday afternoon that took off and got into a field northwest of Terril.
