Most Area Police Departments & Sheriff's Offices Now Off-Limits To Foot Traffic
(Undated)-- Most Sheriff's Offices and Police Departments in the region are now off-limits to foot traffic until further notice to protect staff, officers and deputies from the spread of COVID-19.
Most county jails are also off limits to visitors with the exception of attorney visits. In addition, counties in the region say they're taking additional precautions at corrections facilities when it comes to sanitation and screening incoming prisoners.
Law enforcement agencies say officers and deputies continue work normal shifts, but more are taking reports by telephone when possible. They're also being encouraged to maintain a distance of atleast six feet when visiting with someone.
