Minor Injury Reported In Two-Vehicle Collision On Hwy 18 Near Dickens
(Dickens)-- Minor injuries were reported Friday in a two-vehicle collision in the 2800 mile of Highway 18 in Clay county.
The Clay County sheriff's Office says 67-year-old Robert Dillard of Dickens was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound and was attempting to make a left-turn. Deputies say 52-year-old Tod Schiernbeck of Spencer was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado also eastbound and collided with the vehicle driven by Dillard.
Schiernbeck sustained a minor injury but declined immediate treatment. No injuries were reported to Dillard.
Schiernbeck was cited for failure to stop in a safe and assured distance.
$4,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle driven by Dillard; damage to the one driven by Schiernbeck was estimated at $5,000.
The collision took place around 11:00 am.
