Minor Injuries Reported in I-90 Rearend Collision

(Worthington, Mn.)-- Minor injuries were reported Monday in a rear-end collision on Interstate 90 in Nobles county.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Brian Leahy of Brandon, South Dakota was driving a 2005 International semi that collided with the rear of a camper being pulled by a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 85-year-old Roy Kalkbrenner of Champlin, Minnesota. Troopers say the camper unhooked from the pickup and rolled in the south ditch. The pickup went through the median and wound up in the north ditch on the westbound side of the interstate.

Kalkbrenner was taken to the Worthington hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The camper was totaled with minor damage reported to both the pickup and semi.

The collision took place shortly after 9:00 am.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Nobles County Sheriff's Office and the Worthington ambulance and paramedics.
