Minnesota State Patrol Looking For Good Samaritan Who Assisted At Scene Of Serious Crash Near Windom

Thu 9-3-2015 ["Hwy. 60 Heron Lake, Mn"]

(Windom, Mn.)-- The Minnesota State Patrol is looking for a person who helped out at the scene of a serious crash Monday near Windom.

The patrol says a trooper had stopped traffic for a funeral procession on Highway 60 when the driver of a semi failed to stop and collided with the rear of another semi. The trooper and an unknown good samaritan ran to rescue the driver of the striking semi, which burst into flames.

The driver of that rig, 49-year-old Michael Junker of Trimont, is recovering from serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The trooper would like to find the person who stopped to help out so they can be recognized for their heroic actions. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marshall office of the Minnesota State Patrol at (507) 476-4020.
