Milford Police Officer Accused Of Providing Alcohol To Person Under The Legal Age
(Milford)-- A Milford police officer faces potential legal trouble after being accused of supplying alcohol to a person under the legal age.
A criminal complaint and affidavit filed by the Iowa State Patrol accuses Richard Zalabowski of knowingly providing alcohol to a person under 21 at a party December 8th at an Arnolds Park bar. The complaint states that numerous witnesses observed what was going on, and that the person was an acquaintance of Zalabowski and that he should have known the person wasn't of age.
Due to conflict of interest matters, the Dickinson County Attorney's Office has recommended the case be prosecuted by the Clay County Attorney. Court documents to that extent were filed Friday.
Zalabowski has been an officer with the Milford Police Department since June of 2016.
