Milford Man Arrested In Connection With Vehicle Burglaries
(Estherville)-- A Milford man has been arrested on charges in connection with burglaries from several vehicles in Estherville.
Estherville police say they were notified in the early morning of September 27th that three vehicles had been entered and that wallets, identification cards, money and other items had been taken. One of the victims was able to capture an image of the suspect on a home video system. Those photos and videos were posted on social media.
Estherville police say they were contacted September 30th by the Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office stating deputies and officers of the Emmetsburg Police Department received information pertaining to the incidents that occurred in Estherville and other locations. Estherville police then obtained a search warrant for a residence in Milford.
That warrant was executed September 30th at 1204 S Avenue in Milford by Estherville and Milford police and the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office. As a result of that search, Estherville police obtained an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Troy Petersen of Milford, formerly of Emmetsburg. Petersen was taken into custody Monday on the warrants, charging him with three counts of burglary in the 3rd degree.
Petersen was booked into the Emmet county jail on a $6,000 cash or surety bond.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation and that more charges are possible.
