Mexican Man Arrested In NW Iowa Sentenced In Federal Court For Unlawful Use Of Identification Documents
(Sioux City)-- A Mexican man who came to the attention of ICE officials after he was arrested in Orange City for driving without a valid license and admitted to purchasing a counterfeit Social Security card has been sentenced in U.S. District Court to four months in prison.
33-year-old Miguel Angel Prieto-Soto pled guilty previously to one count of unlawful use of identification documents. He admitted at a plea hearing that he had purchased a counterfeit permanent resident alien card and counterfeit Social Security card and used his real name on both of them. Prieto-Soto also admitted to using those same cards to get a job at a business in Hull.
