Melvin Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Charge

(Sioux City)-- A Melvin Man has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge.

50-year-old Todd Gruis entered the plea Tuesday to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa says Gruis admitted at a plea hearing that in March, 2021 he received multiple packages by mail containing methamphetamine and that he planned to use some of it himself, and distribute the rest.

Gruis is in the custody of a U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Clay and Osceola County Sheriff's Offices and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
