Man Wanted In Connection With High Speed Pursuit Taken Into Custody On Numerous Charges
(Primghar)-- A man wanted on warrants from O'Brien county in connection with a high speed pursuit has been taken into custody.
Authorities say the pursuit started late Friday, October 2nd in Sheldon. It ended a little while later when the vehicle crashed into a cornfield. The driver, James Skoglund, was arrested on the scene. A passenger escaped the vehicle and took off into the field of standing corn.
Upon investigating authorities were able to identify the passenger as 20-year-old Walker Hollenbeck of Sioux City. Hollenbeck was accused of holding a gun to Skoglund's head during the chase.
Hollenbeck was arrested Wednesday on charges of assault, false imprisonment, and interference with official acts. It was also discovered he was wanted on O'Brien county warrants for domestic abuse assault and violation of a no-contact order. Hollenbeck also faces several drug related charges after authorities say they found some drug paraphernalia with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine while they were executed the arrest warrants. He was also charged with interference with official acts after allegedly trying to elude officers as they were trying to arrest him.
