Man Sentenced For Illegally Re-Entering the United States

(Sioux City)-- A man who illegally re-entered the U.S. has been sentenced to three months in federal prison.
28-year-old Jose Colis-Salas of Mexico had pleaded guilty June 26th of this year to one count of illegal re-entry of a removed alien. Court documents say Colis-Salas was deported on April 5th, 2013.
He came to the attention of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on April 10th of this year when he was arrested in Clay county for failure to appear on charges of identity theft and tampering with records.
Colis-Salas must also serve one year of supervised release in addition to the prison term.
