(Primghar)-- A Sioux City man faces charges after leading authorities in O’Brien county in a high speed pursuit last week while driving a stolen vehicle.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says the 2003 Ford Taurus had been taken from a residence in Primghar. It was spotted going at a high rate of speed west of Primghar by a sheriff’s deputy. Another deputy and an Iowa State Patrol trooper joined in the pursuit.
Authorities say the vehicle eventually wound up in a field. The driver, Keygan Egdorf of Sioux City, was arrested and charged with theft in the 2nd degree, felony eluding, driving under suspension, a stop sign violation and driving on the wrong side of a highway.
Egdorf was booked into the O’Brien county jail on a $10,000 bond.
The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
