(Spencer)-- A man who was freed from the Clay county jail after posting bond on drug charges found himself back in the slammer minutes later.
The Spencer Police Department says it started around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when an officer made contact with 18-year-old Allyster McClain at his residence at 117 West 1st Street in Spencer. The officer reported smelling marijuana when he made contact with McClain, and a subsequent search of McClain's person turned up what's alleged to be marijuana. A subsequent search warrant was executed on McClain's residence later in the morning which resulted in authorities finding drug paraphernalia, controlled substances and a street sign. McClain was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a street sign and signals, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a hash oil, possession of a controlled substance Clonazepam, unlawful possession of a prescription drug Propranolol, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
McClain later posted bond and was released from jail around 5:40 P.M. Authorities say he then went to the Spencer Police Department shortly after 6:00 p.m. and caused a disturbance in the lobby by yelling profanity at the on-duty lieutenant. McClain was arrested again and booked into the Clay county jail on a charge of disorderly conduct.
