Man Arrested Near Jackson Following Pursuit Initiated By Spirit Lake Police
(Spirit Lake)-- A man faces charges in connection with a pursuit Wednesday initiated by Spirit Lake Police.
The pursuit started shortly before 3:00 pm when Spirit Lake police were called to a local business. Authorities say the suspect fled in a 2011 black Ford Taurus and that a pursuit ensued. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says it crossed into Minnesota near Loon Lake and continued east to Petersburg, then north toward Jackson. A Jackson county deputy deployed stop sticks just south of Jackson, which disabled the tires on the suspect vehicle.
The driver, 35-year-old Aaron Woodman of Stratford, Iowa, was arrested and charged with fleeing a peace officer. Authorities say he was also wanted on an active warrant out of Nevada for a probation violation on an original charge of forgery.
Additional charges against the suspect may be pending out of Jackson county.
