Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting Lu Verne, Iowa Bank Employee Sentenced To Life In Prison
(Algona)-- The man accused of shooting and killing a Lu Verne bank employee this past December has changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
35-year-old Valentino Williams appeared this (Fri.) morning in Kossuth County District Court and pled guilty to one count of 1st degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. An attempted robbery charge was dropped in exchange for the plea.
Williams was also ordered to pay $150,000 in restitution to the Weishaar family.
Williams was accused of fatally shooting 43-year-old Jessica Weisharr of Algona on the morning of December 4th outside of the Security State Bank in Lu Verne, Iowa.
Williams was taken into custody about an hour after he fled the scene when he was pulled over on Interstate 35.
