Long-Time ISU Extension And Outreach Field Agronomist Paul Kassel To Retire

(Spencer)-- Paul Kassel, a long-time agronomist with ISU Extension and Outreach, will be retiring at the end of this month.

Kassel began his career as an Extension Integrated Pest Management Associate at the Spencer Area Extension Office back in 1981. In 1982 he was appointed Spencer Extension Area Crop Specialist. Kassel left extension in 1986 to work with Pioneer Hybrid. He then returned to serve as the Extension Crop Specialist serving a 17-county area from the Storm Lake Area Extension Office in 1989. He relocated to the Clay county office in 1992, where he has served as an Extension Field Agronomist for 10 northwest Iowa counties. 

A retirement coffee for Kassel will be held at the Stables Building at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer Wednesday, June 30th from 9:30 to 11:30 am. The Stables Building is directly west of the cattle and horse barns.
