Local Utility Brings In Additional Manpower To Assist In Massive Power Restoration Efforts
(Jackson, Mn.)-- Federated Rural Electric Association of Jackson says it's efforts to restore power are getting a boost today (Fri.) as 20 additional linemen have arrived from four Iowa electric cooperatives and a contracting firm. The utility says it now has 46 crew members working on restoration efforts.
They're focusing on re-building eight miles of line along Highway 86 north of Lakefield to a substation near Wilder. Another crew is re-building four miles of line south of Okabena and a three mile stretch west of Okabena. A five-member crew is re-building five miles of lines in the Round Lake area, while restoration efforts also continue in the area between Jackson and Alpha along with portions of Martin county.
As of 7:30 this (Fri.), Federated REA had 1,992 members without power.
