Local Healthcare Providers Say They're Getting A Lot Of Questions Over Departure Of Another Medicaid Contractor
(Spirit Lake)-- Healthcare providers in the region say they're getting bombarded with questions and concerns following recent news that United Healthcare will no longer be providing Medicaid coverage in Iowa.
Lakes Regional Healthcare Patient Financial Services Manager Pat Holdorf says a number of Medicaid patients have been calling concerned about their coverage at Lakes Regional Healthcare and the local Avera family physician clinics.
Holdorf says Lakes Regional Healthcare will continue to participate with all Medicaid contractors. She says until July, there will continue to be two Medicaid contractors in Iowa: AmeriGroup and UnitedHealthcare. After July a new Medicaid contractor, called Iowa Total Care, will enter the market, following the exit of UnitedHealthcare.
