Lake Park Simulation Intended To Drive Home Dangers Of Distracted Driving

(Lake Park)-- Authorities are hoping an exercise that was conducted this (Wed.) morning at the intersection of County Road M-27 and the entrance to the Harris-Lake Park High School will make students and others stop and think. Lake Park Fire Chief Brandon Ehret tells KUOO news the scenario consisted of a collision involving a car, a pickup and a moped...Lake Park simulation01 

The scenario included multiple injuries, along with one fatality.

Multiple agencies responded, along with an Avera-McKennan medical helicopter that landed near the scene.

In addition to the Lake Park Fire Department, other agencies involved included the Lake Park Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Lake Park ambulance and rescue, the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics, the city of Lake Park, Turner-Jenness Funeral Home, and the school.

Ehret thanks all those who participated, adding the exercise went very smoothly.
