Jeremy Parsons receives Honor from International Association of Fairs and Expositions
(Spencer)-Clay County Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons has received a special honor, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
Jeremy Parsons, CEO and Manager of the Clay County Fair in Spencer has recently been honored by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.
IAFE President & CEO Marla Callico explains. "Jeremy was named a Certified Fair Executive, in our business, a CFE. We have just over 400 CFEs who have been recognized since the history the program in the late 1970s. And what that is, it is recognition of an individual's commitment to excellence, not only at their own fair, a high level of professionalism, but also commitment to the industry, to the sector."
She adds that Parsons was one of just 9 CFE recpients this year. "The CFE Program has a series of criteria where we measure an individual's participation, from commitment to leadership, their management style and philosophy in their own fair, their level of degree in education, and all of those things are awarded a series of points, and this year I believe it was 9 CFEs that we recognized, again bringing our total up to about 400."
