(Jackson, Mn.)-- Authorities in Jackson county, Minnesota say they are not aware of any inmates from Florida being transferred to their jail.

Recent stories from the Associated Press regarding two inmates who escaped a transport van reported the prisoners were being transferred to Jackson, Minnesota. However, the Jackson County, Minnesota Sheriff's office and the county attorney there both tell Community First Broadcasting's KKOJ that they are not aware of any such transports being made to their jail.

One of the escapees, 28-year-old James Thomas Banks, was captured around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday by authorities in Rankin county, Florida.

The other, 30-year-old Michael Andrew Rotunno, remains at large. Authorities say a man matching Rotunno's description was spotted Tuesday night checking into a hotel in Longview, Texas.

Both Banks and Rotunno have extensive criminal histories.
