Jackson City Council Hears Update On Trail Project; Approves Request For Partial Payment Of Accident Deductible For EMT
(Jackson, Mn.)-- The Jackson City Council Tuesday evening heard an update on plans for the Belmont Park Bike Trail Project. Luke Ewald with Community Wellness Partners said the project is moving forward and they are seeking funding for part, if not all, of the project. A presentation was made to the County Commissioners earlier in the day.
On another matter, Ambulance Director Michael Muchlinski addressed the council regarding an accident deductible request. In early January, an EMT on call was involved in a one vehicle crash early in the morning on roads that had not been plowed. The Ambulance service was seeking Council permission to pay for a portion of the deductible and to enact a policy to deal with issues like this in the future. Muchlinski says in the 14 years he has been with the service, he knows of 3 accidents, including this one. The Council approved the request.
The Council approved a request from the Jackson Fire Department to purchase a new Pumper/Tanker truck with a bid of $339,000 and approved an airport farmland lease with Matt Benson. Terms will be the same as the original agreement.
