Jackson City Council Adopts Resolution Urging Governor Tim Walz To Re-Open The Economy
(Jackson, Mn.)-- Another community in southwest Minnesota is calling on Governor Tim Walz to re-open the state's economy.
The Jackson City Council Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution expressing support for businesses in the city. A letter to that affect will be sent to the Governor.
The council took the action after hearing from a representative of the city's business community.
It came on the heels of a resolution adopted Monday evening by the Lakefield City Council, declaring that community a "constitutional and business friendly community", seeking relief from the Governor's executive orders. The resolution adopted by the Jackson City Council stops short of that.
Jackson City Attorney Brad Anderson said there were questions as to the legality of what was done in Lakefield, and that he had received an opinion from the League of Minnesota Cities.
