Jackson Center For The Arts Hosts New Music In The Market And Art In The Park Event

Mon 6-7-2021 Jackson, MN

(Jackson)-The Jackson Center for the Arts is proud to be hosting a new event in Jackson, Reporter Mathew Grisham has the update…

JCA Market and Art in the Park

Music in the Market and Art in the Park is a new event in Ashley Park, which will add music and art to the Riverside Farmers Market. Events will include live music, art for kids and more. The first of these events will be on Thursday, June 10th, and include four piece string band Chain Station. There will also be live art by Marcia Elsbecker.

Kathy Fransen, JCA board member, says that after all events were cancelled last year due to COVID, people are loving the outdoors...

“Currently, of course this past year, we just didn't have anything scheduled at all and we want to try this in a different manner and still get the great music, it’ll be at Ashley Park, and you can space out and be comfortable and be outside and I think we’re all just loving the outdoors right now.”

Many Thursdays throughout the summer will include live music and art, which Fransen says is thanks to a grant…

“And another bonus of our whole concert series this summer is that it’s free to everyone because we did get a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council.”

The summer long event is a great way to get back out into the community after the pandemic, but not be “elbow to elbow,” in the Jackson Center for the Arts, says Fransen.

Information about the event is on Facebook, at the Jackson Center for the Arts page. For more information about the events, click here
