(Spirit Lake)-Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Week is April 12-17. Iowa's 100 county extension offices will host activities throughout the week to thank Iowans for their support of extension efforts throughout the state.

Locally, Hannah Dibble with Dickinson County Extension office says, a number of food trucks will be set up at the fairgrounds next week.  "Extension Week is when we celebrate the Iowa State University's Extension and our relationship is specifically with Dickinson County.  We consider Iowa State University a 99 county campus.  For our local celebration this year, we will have food trucks out at the fairgrounds where our office is located, just north of Hy-Vee in Spirit Lake.  It's really a special way just to share with the community what's going on this year and what will be coming up in 2022.  It's also a great time to say thank you to our volunteers and give more recognition to our community partners because they really help make everything possible."

She adds that registration is underway for summer camps, which are filling up quickly.  "We have had an overwhelming response from the community.  Thank you to everyone who registered.  We do happen to have openings left in 6 out of the 25 camps that we're offering this summer, so there's still a few options available."
