The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Dickinson County is offering an interactive program called Journey Through Parkinson's Disease.
Human Sciences Program Coordinator Sue Boettcher explains. "It starts this Thursday, March 14th. It's three consecutive Thursdays from 9:30-10:30. We're at the Bedell Family YMCA Meeting Room. It's an interactive program, it's designed to help participants recognize the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, understand what causes the disease, and how treatments work, and then learn about some therapeutic activities that can be done in the home."
She adds that the program is free, however registration is requested. "Give us a call at the Extension Office at 336-3488, or they can call the Bedell Family YMCA. We'll be in the Meeting Room there and you don't have to be a member. It's free and open to the public."
