Thu 10-17-2019 243 West Broadway Street, Arnolds Park, IA
(Arnolds Park)-A book signing is on tap at the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Museum on Saturday, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association will host a Book Signing by Author Ryan Sheeler on Saturday afternoon.
Sheeler's new book, Ritchie Valens: His Guitars and Music, highlights the guitars and style of the Legendary Musician.
Ritchie's Sister, Connie Valens, will also appear at the event. "I was so impressed by the bibliography and the correspondence and just all the little things that most people don't really look at, but since this is personal to me, it's just amazing the time and effort he put into it. Not only music lovers will love this book, but just people who like to educate themselves on what makes a person what they are, you know, especially it being my brother Ritchie and we have to remember he was only 17."
She notes that the event will include live music by Terry Klein as well as refreshments. "I'm bringing some free gifts. We're going to have some Ritchie Valens koozies and some CDs to hand out at different points of the afternoon. So, I'm really looking forward to this."
The event will run from 12:30 to 4 on Saturday afternoon at the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Museum in Arnolds Park and is free and open to the public.
