(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association will present a special tribute to Association Co-Founder John Senn at tonight's Rock the Roof Concert at the new Roof Garden in Arnolds Park.
Board of Directors President Ralph Kluseman says the Association has launched a “Preserving the Legacy” Capital Campaign which aims to raise funds to ensure that the new Iowa Rock 'n Roll Museum will be completed and sustained for future generations:
"This is the time for us to all come together and really bring this thing on home, because it's kind of like The Field of Dreams. You know, they said if you build it they will come. Well, we built it, and they will come and they have been coming, but we've got this obligation, and we really think this is an important piece of how we build our future. With all the help of all the wonderful people that have helped us over all the years, I think we need to make sure that the vision that John Senn brought to this world over 22 or 23 years ago, that we make sure it's sustainable for a long, long time."
He adds that donations at all levels will be appreciated:
"Really, what we're looking at right now is that we've created the structure, when people want to know what they do, how they can help us, I mean, we've always had different levels, but what we've tried to do is expand beyond buying a brick or buying a lifetime membership, we would like to make sure that you know what the naming opportunities are. If you haven't had the opportunity to come in and look at the new Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association's Hall of Fame and Museum, it's breathtaking, and we really have had a tremendous amount of feedback about how wonderful it is and of course, having the right people design it. Two gentlemen who worked originally for the Cleveland, National Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they brought great skills, great vision."
The Association has dedicated the new Museum in John Senn's name.
Tonight's concert will be the first Rock the Roof at the new Roof Garden and will get underway at 6 pm.
