Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association Cancels Rock The Roof Events For June Due To COVID-19

Mon 5-11-2020

(Arnolds Park)-- The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association announced today (Monday) it's cancelling its June dates of Rock The Roof events due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19. The association says it's attempting to reschedule the events for late August and September.

Clay Norris, the association's Executive Director, says the decision was made out of an abundance of caution for artists, friends and staff. He says they're still hoping to kick off the summer Rock The Roof events in the Roof Garden starting July 2nd, adding they will pay close attention to the Governor's guidelines and will act accordingly.

The association meanwhile says they've been pleased with the feedback they received from the “Rock Your Own Roof” event held April 23rd on Facebook Live. They say over 4,500 people viewed the event. A “Rock Your Own Patio” event on May 8th reached over 4,000 people.

The association plans to hold another “Rock Your Own Patio” Friday, May 15th at 6:00 pm featuring Jason Walsmith of The Nadas. That will also be held on Facebook Live.
